General information about ISOT 2024:
We managed to accept nearly all submitted symposium proposals by removing the five clinical symposia from the actual ISOT 2024 conference and grouping them in a separate meeting, which will take place on Saturday, 22 June, opening day. So, in effect, we added an extra day to ISOT 2024. We tentatively call this separate meeting the “satellite”, but there is no separate registration for it. The satellite will end with a symposium of patient advocacy organizations for olfactory dysfunctions – the first time ever this will happen at an ISOT conference. The satellite is not yet announced as such on the website. But for the sake of booking flights and accommodation, we thought it would be useful to give you a heads-up.
We therefore suggest that you arrive in Reykjavik by Friday, 21 June, at the latest on Saturday, 22 June morning.
As to accommodation, the ISOT 2024 website offers accommodation in 11 hotels. Click here for more information.

From what we hear, Airbnb has low-cost offers in Reykjavik.
A highlight of ISOT 2024 will be what we call “The Perlan Experience” on the evening of Tuesday, 25 June – a day with 21 hours of daylight and sunset occurring a few minutes after midnight. We rented out the entire Perlan museum for us privately, from 7 pm until well after sunset. The museum is located on a hill overlooking Reykjavik and has a 360º glass dome. Food and drinks will be served from stands, and guests can be seated on chairs at tables. There’ll be an open bar as well. Guests will be able to visit all museum exhibits, including the planetarium. It’ll be a memorable experience of June solstice for all of us as a conference community. The ISK 13,000.00 fee for The Perlan Experience does not cover the full cost, and we’ll subsidize it from the ISOT 2024 budget.
In the morning of Wednesday, 26 June, we’ll start fashionably late and close the meeting at noon. In the afternoon of Wednesday, 26 June, there are three options for excursions exclusively for ISOT 2024 participants and their guests. Click here for more information.
In addition, you can choose and book many tours and activities (but not exclusively for ISOT 2024 participants and their guests). For more information, click here.
We look forward to welcoming you in Iceland.
The co-organizers of ISOT 2024,
Bill Hansson & Peter Mombaerts
